Yup...right location anyways. Depending on where your fuel is leaking from...might need a new one. Look on EBAY for replacement, I think there is one or two on there right now for like $9.99! That or make the right fix...comvert to EFI! lol okay Im kidding about that one.

Thanks! E bay is not an option for me for this one. It might just be a gasket, its coming from somewhere near the bottom where it bolts w/gasket to the block. Looks like Napa, cause I need it NOW!.

Hope Crappy Haynes manual covers this one. I'll be in the drivaway for a while.

Don't know anything about your question but just wanted to thank you for the "pointer" trick with the glove. Might be standard practice here on the board but new to me.

Off topic- I went to look at your pix, what did you do to fix your RS bumper?

RE the injection conversion, my son is going to look at a 22R truck this weekend, I'd just slap a Weber on there. Had good luck on an old Isuzu LUV years ago, and it was fun to tune.

BTW, I ain't gonna let my wife see your Jimmy stakeside, she loves those GMC/Chevy vintage trucks. Very nice.

The fuel pump has a rubber diaphragm. A arm gets rocked back and forth inside the engine and moves the rubber up and down to pump the fuel to the carb. On the bottom of the housing is a weap hole that lets you know when the rubber is torn. It would be time to replace the fuel pump.

Thanks guys, the new pump is in. I was changing oil and smelled gas. I got the new oil in and started it, I saw the leak right away. I got a new fuel pump and put it in and changed oil in both diffs, motor, transfer and tranny today. Its good to be done with maintainence for a while. Time for a nap.

On my pictures and the bumper... That's just some old stakeside truck from a calander that I scanned to illustrate a point once, its not my truck but it looks cool and i'd like to have it.

With the bumper, I had a friend weld a second 1/4 inch plate to the back after I straightened it. 1/4 inch additions to the inadequate original gussets went on as well. It dosen't move when I stand on the main cross tube and bounce my weight so i'm happy with it for now. I had bolts welded to it just above the winch fairlead for the liscence plate. I had 4 tabs welded on for the winkers, they are in the same place but bolted on instead of zip tied, stock turn signals still in use.

Thanks for the info on the weep hole, that's where the fuel was coming from. You can't see the hole with the pump mounted, I have to get one of those mirrors on a stick thingies.

...And the glove pointer is something I came up with on the spot. Describing its shape and location would have just confused everyone.
