My club, the Gettin' off 4x4 club, did their bi-annual trail clean up and maintenance of the Sour Grass trail here in Sierras. The california weather was really wild in the past week as we went from summer to fall to winter in the course of 1 week. On Monday it was 90 deg in the bay area and by Friday it was snowing in the mountains. The storm left about 2-3 inches of snow on the ground by the time we got up to the trail on Sat.

Yes, this is Terry's new Jeep. He says he plans to use the jeep for the mild trails and the toyota for the harder ones.

Here's one obstacle on the way to the campsites:

Everybody got into the spirit.

Because Andrew's jeep had an electrical fire on a Dusy run he had to hit the trail with his tow rig.

After the cleanup some of us hit the Slickrock trail. The snow made for some scarey times on the way though, as ice was still covering parts of the road, especially around corners. I came around a corner and found several of the jeeps scattered on the opposite shoulder. I hit my brakes but found I there was no way I could stop in time so I tried my best to aim for a gap between a small tree and a jeep. Finally, I came to a stop in a small ditch right beside the jeep! Everybody said I won for the longest skidding distance. Too bad I didn't get a video of that.

Here's some more pics:

If you have to ask about a SAS, you're not ready for it.

You mean that he didn't ride with Leonel.

Good job with the cleanup guys! I was supposed to go to the cleanup on Fordyce this weekend but I didn't feel like chaining my 2WD Dodge from Truckee to Cisco Grove.

Harry , it was very obvious to Terry that you can't bring a pocket knife to a gun fight so he decided that the Heep was to be used only on the mild runs.

Terry spotted me up that part last year, IFS and all!

Notice the Jeep that had to take the bypass.
(Ok I didn't even try it this year because of the snow )

Leonel how was the motor? You good to go? How many tanks of gas did you bring? I wish i could have gone. Is that Candy's jeep? She couldn't make it up the hill? I know it can be done open. I am switching to the dark side this spring! Can't wait!

the new motor is close to perfect ,I"m going to put in a few more miles bewfore install the Split Second ARC2 air/fuel calibrator and that should allow me to do a few more intake mods.
Yes, That's Candy, with the icy rocks it was a bit dificult getting up on the rocks, even Paul with his built up heep had trouble getting up that section and had to take the eisier line to the left.
