Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hi, everybody!

I recently purchased a 2000 Trooper 4x4 with less than 26K miles on it. I'm interested in getting it set up so that when I move out west (hopefully early next year), I'll be ready to do some exploring in it without having to sweat too much.

So, at the risk of being inundated with dozens of answers, what can you tell me about lift kits, skid plates, CB Radios, Lights, Racks, etc.

Oh...and please be gentle! to me "4x4" means 16. I'm a newbie to the whole off-roading thing, not just the site!

Thanks!

1st off welcome to the wonderful addiction of Isuzu modification. I personnally believe this forum is the best around
Your best bet for info is try first try the search function or browse through past topics. Type Lift kit, rack, lights etc in the search bar and a wealth of info will be at your fingertips. This will give you a good general idea about your subjects and the members will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Some cool places to look for Isuzu stuff:
independent 4x4
Calmini Manufacturing
darlington-offroad

And a cool collection of how to articles at:
www.isuzu-suvs.com how to index

Warning I got my 98 trooper at the beginning of the year and have no end to the potential uprades and mods to perform.

You really don't need to go too crazy with the mods just yet. Find a local 4x4 club in the area you are moving to and go on a few runs with them. See what they might suggest for a few quick mods and get some wheeling under your belt. You will find that your Trooper is pretty efficient in a near stock set up. The first mods I would do, and am planning to do as soon as the money comes in, are Old Man Enu 919 rear springs and cranking the front torsion bars. This should give you two inches of lift and you should be able to fit 33 inch tires without any rubbing. After you get a few bumps under your belt then go crazy, or as crazy as you can afford.
