I always run with high oct gas. Is using fuel injector cleaner on a regular basis all I need, or do I have to get the stealership to remove them to be properly cleaned?

Have never had mine cleaned still on the engine, but when I've sent them away it made a world of difference with the engine starting right away instead of taking a minute cranking like it used to. If you can afford the downtime I'd send them off. I payed $11/ injector + shipping for them to be cleaned, which is cheaper IIRC than having them cleaned on the truck.

Where did you send them for $11 each? Did they give you new o-rings and seats as well?

My local dealer's parts guy told me to go find someone who sells BG injector cleaner. He said it is the only pour-in-the-tank cleaner that works. It ran me about $25/can. I can't tell much difference though so I don't know if they just weren't dirty or what.

I sent them to cruzinperformance.com, Rich is a nice guy and will talk to you on the phone even though he runs the shop. The $11 included cleaning, flow testing, new o-rings, isolators, and screens.

I second fatty's post. I've had a couple of sets tested by Rich - very affordable and pleasant experience.

I just got a set back to include my CS injector. The difference being that with cleaning, you're not really checking the spray pattern or anything. Cruzin will do a before/after check, and get them all matched up. If you can afford to have the truck down for a little while, go for it! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

What if I were to upgrade to Supra 305 injectors? Would I have to modify anything else, or would my 97 Runner run ok until I could get the additional mods?

What was the turnaround time on the injectors? Would I have them back in less than 10-12 days?

DrtDevl: If you call Rich he'll tell you how busy he is and estimated turn around time. From what I remember there is the regular price where they get in line when the package gets to his door and it gets done once it's its turn. And then I think he had a hurry up price, but I could be wrong about that.

So it's a function of how much you want to spend for shipping there and back. When I did everything ground it took about 2-2.5 weeks total both times. If I had overnighted them it would have dropped about 7-9 days because I was using Fedex Ground.

TooEZGoing: In order to run the larger injectors you need a fuel controller (s-afc, s-afr, ftc, smt).
