Picked up a class 3 hitch from jc whitney. for 80 bucks. It's a hidden hitch and it's very slick, heavy duty and outta the way. Took bout 20mins to install, no drilling at all.

The wiring harness on the other hand was harder to come by. I wanted a T connector. I finally got one from ebay for 12$ rather than the 170$ the stealer wanted or the 70 that napa wanted. So great score there. (thanks to all you fools that recommended that ebay site, you were all right on!!!) My only question is......i haven't gotten the wiring harness on yet but in the directions it said something like, "the flashers may now flash quicker" or there may be a problem with the flashers etc. Can any of you jokers shed any light on this statement. I'm nervous with electrical and would like to go in there with the experience of you fine individuals!!!

Thanks for all the help lent with this.

Blatant,
I have installed trailer harnesses in the past on other types of trucks and i had to get a heavy duty turn signal condenser. (not sure if that is what it is called but that's what I'm calling it for now) You just remove the standard condenser and plug in the new one. YOu should be able to get one at any auto parts store.

Should be under the dash. I'm not sure on the T100 as I am a new owner of a T100 as of 11/7. It is a round cylinder type thingamajig. Sorry I can't be more specific.

The flasher is just a temp sensitive piece of metal across 2 contacts. As the current flows through the metal to the lights, it heats up, distorts, and the connection is broken. That cools it off and it comes back on again, over and over. If you add more lights(trailer, whatever)= more current so is just cycles faster. With too much current it may not flash at all or too quickly to see well. The heavier flashing unit just handles the current better so it heats up slower and will flash normally with a bigger load.

Thanks for the explanation. That makes complete sense. So it stands to reason that the flasher in there may acutally manage the added load.

Again, does anyone have any idea where it is located?

Should be a silver cylinder that plugs into the fusebox under the dash.
