Finally got my new PP springs installed yesterday afternoon, and what a difference. I had a buddy of mine that owns a couple of Meineke franchises set me up on one of his lifts. And he had one of his guys help me out. Access to a lift was a major plus. The rears were almost drop-out / drop-in. The fronts were a bit more involved being the assembly has to come out. But it helps when you have access to a wall-mount spring compressor which made the job a whole lot easier.

The difference in the ride and handling, especially with the Warm M8000 and TJM bumper on the front are tremendous! Night and day! From what I measured I gained approx. 1 1/2" in the front and closer to 1 3/4" in the rear, as it fixed the small amount of sag in the rear due to the equipment I carry around in the rear. No more rubbing under compression in turns or bouncy sponge ride. Thank God. Now the next thing to do is figure out what the biggest tire size I can fit under there to give me a bit more height. Probably go with a 75-series instead of the 70-series I run now. I'll take some pics to post. It sure sits better than before.

And no more skid-plate drag hopefully when I get to EC4RJ-04.

That is good news. Are you using stock struts/shocks? I am about to install my PP springs on my 96. Do you have pictures of yours so we can all see? Thanks, and good luck.

I am using the Bilstein shocks, the same as what was offered from dealer except I bought mine locally and did not pay the dealer markup. No pics yet but I will have a few after this weekend. The install for the rears is relatively easy. The fronts take more time as you have to remove the whole shock/spring assembly and use a spring compressor to get the old shock out. Good luck getting your springs in, if you do it yourself then you will have the feeling knowing what was done and that it was done right!

Any idea how they compare to OME springs? Im either going with OME's or PP springs on my 97. Also interested in how big of a tire you can fit, post when you figure it out.
Thanks, Matt

A couple years ago someone put 285/75R16 MT/R's on stock wheels with just the PP lift. They claimed no rubbing, but I'm not sure if they disconnected the front swaybar when off-road. Disconnecting the front swaybar or using any other wheels would make it more likely to have rubbing with that size tire.

I have those springs combined with a 1" body lift. Not sure if 33's will fit with just the springs.

Not sure about the ride over OME setup but BIG difference over factory for sure! The ride has much more control and does not dive like before, especially with the Warn M8000 and TJM bumper on front. I do not disco the sway bars which would cause more rubbing I believe off road as someone else mentioned here. But all in all I am very happy with the install and the ride. I will be looking at a differnet tire size as I may have mentioned before, probably going with at least a 75-series to be a bit narrower to minimize rubbing. But I may try going to a P285/75-16 if it works out right and I do not see a rubbing issue.

I may look at some discos for the sways a bit later but still debating on that.

I have PP springs that were on the truck from the previous owner, and 26mm torsion bars cranked to 15" from rim to trim. No body lift. The truck is a little front end high, but I'm seldom heavy loaded and prefer the steeper approach angle. If i can find a set of FJ80 springs, i'll swap them out and sell the PPs...

As for tires:
I tried a set of 33x12.5x15 from a friend for a week. They rub in the front when compressed, the rears didn't.

I don't like body lifts, so i didn't do one. I just went ahead and got 32x11.5x15 and they are a great compromise. They fit fine, and still I have a nice low center of gravity...
