I'm changing out motors on my 97 Runner and was wondering if a Toyota factory gasket will work or do I have to get them from Edelbrock? The number stamped on my Edelbrock headers is 6607.

I am not real sure if stock gaskets will work with the Eldbrocks.

If you look closely at the flange that bolts to the heads, you will see that the openings for the primary tube is much smaller then the size of the exhaust ports. It does not really provide a smooth flow. Since the stock gaskets are going to be sized for the size of the opening, they may not work well with the Edlebrock headers. While your engine is appart you can do some comparing and decide which is the better way to go. I can tell you that I had Edlebrocks on for 50,000 miles and never had a gasket issue using thier gaskets.

I've got 65k now on my gaskets and they're still fine.

I called Edelbrock a couple of years ago when all the guys w/ TRD headers were having leaking problems, and the customer rep said that if I ever have a leak, they'll send me gaskets for free.
