Any one else ever have this issue. Battery is new optima, alt appears to be charging. Does it sound like the starter. The truck is not working. I can't start it. turn the key and it just goes click, once. NOT click, click click. Any ideas?

How hard is it to replace a starter, DIY???

Help Please, it sucks not having your rig running. 98 t 4x auto.

thanks

Be sure you change the "date range" on the search engine.
I have made that mistake several times and all I get for the search is the page that I am already on. Use "3 months" and you will get a nice selection of discussions on the starter subject. Brad

True enough. Kind of a pain about most of the BB engines - they narrow the date too recently by default.

Most likely you need two bent pennies, a collection of wobble joints and an hour.

I just finally had this same problem fixed on my T100 yesterday after a few months of suffering. (It gets worse as you wait). I had an extended warranty to take care of it, but the contact rebuilt instructions look great, so I am bookmarking it for future reference.

There's no shame in sucking those warranties dry <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

Oh yeah.. definitely the starter. The shop replaced the whole thing. It's a $300 part, but I just had to pay labor and a $50 deductible for the part.
