Getting the Wheeling Fever
If you install the clutch plate backwards on a Æ91, the spring pack on the clutch plate will not have enough clearance and the clutch will NOT disengage. There is not enough room in the flywheel cavity for the clutch plate spring pack (which is different from the pressure plate springs). If it worked properly, you must have put it together right.

If the clutch get burned or overheated several times, it can be weakened and can later disintegrate. Hope this is of help.

See you out there,

I scattered a race car clutch once when I missed third gear with the throttle nailed.

A while back Frisky did a clutch job at my house and his old flywheel had small hairline cracks in it. It was destined to let go at the most inopportune time. HE wisely replaced the flywheel even though it meant hitch hiking to work for a week whiole a replacement could be shipped.

With only 10,000 miles on it means it has had a hard life, or was defective to begin with. #2 is very rare.
