Need a Spot
1989 4ze1 automatic 3speed with o/d.It has developed a shudder in 3rd & od.When I'm on the gas it feels like it lets go for a split second and the grabs. Not enough to let the revs come up just real fast.It feels to me like the 3rd gear band is letting go.Anyone know how to check and adjust the bands?

Body Damage is Cool
Check the big bearing that supports the center of the split driveshaft in the rear(can't think of what it's called right now...duh). I've read a lot of posts where that support bearing was the culprit of this exact same type of problem. I doubt it's your tranny causing the shudder. Might be tight(or loose) u-joints too.
