Getting the Wheeling Fever
Some probably knew this, but early Hyundai's ran Mitsu motors as well. I converted several D50 pickups to Hyundai Stellar and Pony drivetrains (they were rear wheel drive till '88 in Canada and the Stellar looked like an Audi 4000 while the Pony and Excel were very similar) Same drivetrain as earlier Dodge Colt RWD.

Build your truck the head men say, but it must be built in such a way...

DaimlerChrysler owns part (about 35%) of Mitsubishi.
DaimlerChrysler owns part (about 10%) of Hyundai/Kai.
Mitsubishi owns part (about 1%) of Hyundai/Kai.

Mitsubishi and Hyundai/Kai have shared technology in the past. Now if Hyundai/Kai would import the Mitsubishi Gen I model trucks into North America - Woo Hoo Hoo!!!

Up until now, the Hyundai Starex (a Korean version of the Delica/Space Gear) is still available brand-new with a Mitsubishi 4d56 engine.

The Galloper II (an updated GEN I) is still avaialble. Powered by the 3.0 V6 or the 2.5 diesel.

Hyundai's of the late 80' and early 90's really had a lot of Mitsu in them.
