I received this notice yesterday from Toyota corporate. Apparently they have extended the warranty on emmissions equipment to 14 years or 150k miles. Dunno what it was originally but I'll take it! Anyone else get this notice?

Got it a couple of weeks ago, threw it in the garbage. It's probably related to a Code in here somewhere: EPA CFR's. I'm more concerned about the rear axle seals lately though... Mike

I also received it and will just keep it with my truck since I still have stock exhaust system.
Hey AZRAIN what do you mean by rear axle seals? Was/is there a problem with them? Reason I ask is I ended up 'bending' an axle for I beleive the seal went bad and it heated up. This happened on a trip I took towing a trailer with a bike in it.. I did make it home but noticed a 'grinding' sound once I got back home just to learn the rear wheel 'wobbled' (like a bent rim when it was actually the axle)

Rear axle seals have been a problem on the 3rd Gen's. AFAIK, there is no official Toyota SB or Service Campaign. Allegedly, according to Right Toyota in Phoenix, the replacement seal is a superior design to the original seal. Mine finally went south at 51K and that was after numerous wheeling trips and pulling the axles to install a locker. Some say it's due to not keeping the breather clean, but I never had that issue. Not like we see a lot of heavy mud around here.
I can't remember who it was, but someone on this board has had like five replacements !

I had my left rear axle seal go out at around 80,000. Last March. Dealer screwed the replacement becasue it went out about 8,000 miles later. They warrantied the work but ever since then I have had rear brake problems. Some how my rear drums got out of round so now I am in the process of replacing the rear drums and shoes. Last time I use a dealer for anything...
