Need a Spot
I have a stock '95 with the 31" tires. I want to lift it but nothing crazy i would like to keep the 31" or maybe get 32" tires. Im thinking 2" in rear the Downey HD coils and Bilstein Shocks all around. I really dont want to do anything to the front other than an inch or so. What is all about cranking the torsion bars? How do i do it and how much will it lift? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's a good writeup on the subject.

Also was a good thread on this forum in the last few months, do a search for it.

22mm socket, 22mm wrench or pipe wrench, hold the upper nut and crank on the bolt per those articles. Bounce it, drive it, then adjust to even out. Then go straight to the alignment shop.

Better bet may be to wait on the IFS balljoint spacers - this will be a superior 1.5" lift solution to cranked t-bars. Search for the 120-post "IFS Balljoint Spacer Update" thread on this forum.

On this note.. Joe, when you get a chance, PM me your address. I got the parts "fixed" (I had to mill off some material) and will be sending them out Friday. Baring any major issues, and I can't fathom anything beyond mod'ing a dimension, I'm going order a whole bunch of them. I should be ready to go by the end of the month.

Frank.
