Here is a great deal for onboard air!!!

I didn't want to give up my air conditioning nor try to cram another compressor on my engine.

So, I bought one of these off of eBay:

[Linked Image]

Looks like it is made in the same overseas factory as the Extreme air... but it only cost me $176.45, delivered to my door!!!!!

I think this may be the best deal you can find on a 12V compressor.

Rated:
1HP motor (I'm not so sure about that)
3.4 CFM at 40PSI
3.0 CFM at 90PSI
125PSI max
Fan-cooled

It aired up my 33x950R15 tire from 15PSI to 32PSI in 1 minute.

I checked it's current draw: 30 to 40 amps. Not too bad cause the alt will put out 60A.

It also has a 1.5G tank w/drain, safety valve, pressure gauge, pressure switch, blow-off valve, regulator w/another gauge (I already took that off). Total weight is 32LB.

After I bought it, I found out that the place will sell just the compressor alone for $140!

I'll probably detach the compresser from the tank and mount the tank or a larger one under my 4Runner.

I got it on eBay... not an auction just a fixed price. The place is called "Buzzard Gulch." Do a search for "puma compressor".

Other people on eBay are asking a lot more for the same thing.

Or you can buy direct from them:

Nice folks, and shipped it fast!

LOL you wouldn't believe all the people on yotatech who are willing to spend $400 for an XtremeAir. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

That would be just about right to run some ARBs, but I wouldn't want to rely on it to run air tools. (Mini compressors don't usually last very long.)

whoa i love my co2 tank so far but that sure looks nice, i still need to find something that can run air tools better. even when i put my regulator up to 120psi it still sounds like my tools are running a little slow... hook any tools up to that tank yet to see how well they work with it?

I've considered the CO2 tank, but apparently they don't work at temperatures below freezing (which is 5-6 months of the year where I live). This looks very intreresting.

What was the warranty that came with it?

I think the blowjax compressor is like that one. Also harbour freight has one for about $100 that is like that as well.

There. That's more like it.

I love my converted A/C compressor. Run the motor at 2,ooo RPM and it'll air a 38.5 from 8-25 PSI in under 30 seconds. WIHTOUT A TANK. Bringing it up off idle makes a huge difference.

Air tools also fully rock at 150 PSI. My trail impact gun hits harder off of this than it did off the 60-gallon upright shop compressor: 30 extra PSI.

You can't beat an infinite supply that powerful. You just gotta live with being hot in the summer.

I detailed my conversion on Pirate4x4 here:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=145325&highlight=oba

Cost about $100 total.
