My father in law was so impressed with my little Trooper, he went out and bought one, only thing, he bought an 87 with the California emmisions instead of an EFI model. It runs good, starts good, but once it is warm, it will not idle. We have tried adjusting it manually, and it still kills it. We have checked all the basics, fuel pump, spark, vacuum leaks etc. All seems in order, but still no idle when warm. I am guessing that there is a carb that can be used that does not utilize the computer. What carbs will work, and does the computer control anything besides the carb? Yes, I did a search and found nothing.
Thanks

It's a race against rust and the Trooper can't go fast enough to win!

Send Jerry Lemond at jlemond@bellsouth.net an email.
He can tell you about both types of carbs that were used.
I am pretty sure he has new units of both types too, if you decide you want to buy one. Send him and note and he'll give ya some good answers.
