Can't seem to find it now. Anyways, I finally got a Redline adapter kit and Weber carb for my son's Montero but was wondering if I could just undo the Jet valve lash screws and run it, or if there was a plug I could screw in w/o removing the head?

Build your truck the head men say, but it must be built in such a way...

There's a jet valve removal kit that plugs the hole where the jet valves reside. I believe TEP sells the kit.

Maybe Clearwater has them also? I'm pretty sure they offer a rebuilt head with the eliminators.

BTW, TEP is Top End Performance in case you hadn't heard of them.

Clearwater probably has a set. I sent my head back with the jet valve eliminators! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Most any machine shop can order them for you - a common part for the 2.6.

Body Damage is Cool

I'm more of a Gen 1 3.0 man , but when living back in Kentucky we had to pass strick smog in the bigger cities.
I passed on buying a couple really goodlooking 4 bangers cause the carb's plastic body part would crack (,with the bad weather big fluctuating changes of midwestern x southern fronts thru tornado alley).
They wouldn't pass smog without a lot of rebuilds.
And the heads had a BAD reputation and the blocks on those counterbalance problems.(also check out www.jasperengines .com.( in Indiana) they re-engineer Known weak spots in engines and have a REAL good reputation,,, and they just opened a couple warehouses in the west.

The Heads ??? with all that oversizing the "Holes" , Ive heard they crack alot between "holes".
John Baker still has some Beefed up Heads on his list that don't crack.
Yous guys might want to check these out.
His place is now called TRUCK and TRACTOR and he's in Wicn. or Minn.
Better hurry , I get the felling he might be getting out of Monteros so better get his good stuff while you can.
