Does anyone know where to buy an oil filter relocation kit for toyotas????? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> I do. Goto www.performanceproducts.com and do a keyword search for "Relocation kit" and you'll find it.

You must have one of those fancy paved driveways or even fancier paved garages. In Texas we use the used oil to kill fire ants...............just kidding so please no hate mail from any save the whale wienies. I do all my own maintenance except for oil changes. Call me lazy, but for 19 bucks a toyota guy can get dirt in his eyes, oil down his armpit, and I don't have to dispose of the used oil. It is a job that can be followed up very easy when they are done, plus I stay very busy with work and keeping all the other crap I have around here maintained.

Man I cant believe no one has mentioned this yet. Turn your tires to the left. Inside wheel well is a rubber flap to keep the dirt/mud and anything else you run over from going into the engine compartment. Undo a couple of those plastic plugs hold it in place and Bam it right there in front of ya. The only beef I have is the little amount of oil I spill when taking it off but that an easy fix with some cheap kitty litter. Or as John said send him all the oil there is plenty of fire ants down here begging to be killed.

That's the way I've been doing it on my '01 4Runner for nearly 70,000 miles - no problem. It always amuses me how many answers will appear regarding the oil capacity of the 3.4. My manual clearly states 5.5 U.S. quarts - with a filter change. I believe three different values are listed - make sure you are reading the U.S. quart figure.

Andreas Yea, but I got a good laugh out of this: Manual says 6.5 quarts w/ filter but I always end up using 6 and 1/2.

That's impossible. It's usually in the first pages, they list the capacities of every reservoir, differencials, etc...
