Getting the Wheeling Fever
Anyone have any advice on how to disconnect the airbags on a 2000 Trooper. Where is the control module located? Other then an airbag light, will it caause any other faults in the PCM?
Thanks,

For some very ovbious reasons, this is for all practiable purposes, impossible. At the least it is no possible and at the most, it is dangerous.

Do not do it, besides safety, there are several other legal aspects to it.

As to the legal aspect, I don't know. I know alot of people that remove the drivers airbag on Camaro's and put aftermarket steering wheels on. It is no big chore as long as the battery is disconnected and enough time has been left to bleed any other power off. The only problem is the airbag light stays on all the time. Hence removeing the bulb.

There are legal issues, mostly surrounding you or someone else getting hurt because the bag was disconnected or disabled. Especially, if they did not know the air bag was inopperable. (What woudl be accomplished by pulling the light.)

Because this is the internet, I can only suggest you find someone with the traning for Isuzu vehicles to assist you. I'll tell you, that is going to be next to impossible

Also, as I am sure you know, there are often mulitple paths to energize the airbag system. Missing one or setting it off inadvertently could cause severe damage to you or your vehicle.

Also, because of the legal gray area of this, I ask you to take this question somewhere else. We do not allow for discussion or support of illegal activites here. I am not saying this is illegal, but...it is on the outside edge of it, at the best. Because of this, this thread is closed.

Trust me, I believe that we should be able to make decisions about our vehicles, especially concerning things like safety devices, without the interfearance of the goverment. But, alas, the moron-contengent of our population hires lawyers and therefore we are stuck with rules to protect the stupid.
