I think I know the answer to this one but a general consensus would be appreciated. I feel dumb but here goes.

Do aftemarket rear traction bars affect articulation a lot?
I know there has to be some loss because of how there mounted but how much (in general)? I am getting a lot of wheel hop and spring wrap on my rig and am looking for a way to solve this. I dont mind some loss but I dont want a stiff unforgiving body rolling trail ride either. Both my rigs right now only see fire roads and very mild trails due to time constraints and they rotate my DD needs as well.

If any one can recommend a different option on controlling wheel hop/spring wrap I would appreciate it too. Also any one with traction bar experience both on and off road please chime in.

Thanks in advance
Craig

What kinda traction bars are you asking about? If you're talkin about the spring slapper style things that come forward off the bottom of the axle, then forget about it those things are for muscle cars not trucks and really aren't even that great for them. What you want is ont of the radius arm type bars that attaches to the axle top and bottom and hangs from a shackle at the frame. Thes dont tend to limit suspension travel or flex, and work well at limiting wheel hop.

Sorry I forgot to clarify but the radius arm type is what I meant. I'm really looking at them for my tow rig now that I swapped on a set of Superduty HD springs to help balance the load capacity. With Trooper in tow and a bed full of gear/junk the truck performs flawlessly yet empty it hops like crazy I guess due to the super stiff new springs. 16.5" commercial duty high mileage tires dont help either. However like all my rigs (car truck etc.) it does see its fair share of trail runnin and I didnt want to screw up what little flex I had. Now my wheel hopping Trooper might get a set as well.

Thanks again for confirming my thoughts on them.
