Who has done it or who is doing it? What type of trails do you run?

A dealer told me the lockright will break for sure with 35's. They only recommend it for 33's or lower? Is the ez-locker the same deal since they are basically the same design.? I figured the cv's would break first before the diff or locker.

Should I just stay open in the front until I cross over to the dark side and SAS?

IMO:

since the 7.5" IFS r/p are prone to breakage w/ a locker- and your gonna do a SAS on it sooner or later, save the money for that locker instead.

but, since breakage is the best excuse to upgrade go for it

What the largest size tire you can run with a locker? I'm going to be taking the RockStomper approach.

I had an EZ-locker that I was going to install into my IFS diff, running 35s and 4.88s at the time. Until I stripped another set of 4.88 IFS gears, then I believe I sold the EZ locker to your bro in-law Patrik After I sold that, I sold the IFS lift and everything else and gave up on IFS, crossed over to the dark side and will never turn back.

I've stripped two sets of IFS gears and broke two CVs without a front IFS locker (All with 4.88s and 35s), I can only imagine it being worse with a locker up front. I also agree I doubt the locker would break first, I bet the ring gear or a CV would go before the locker will. Save your $$$.

Put it in. You aren't going to break the locker. You'll probably break stub and CV shafts, but those are cheap & easy to find w/ all the SASing going on. Just carry spares and know how to change them.

The R&P wont be any more suceptible to breakage than it was before. Just dont BOUNCE the front tires when on the gas (I've seen TRD12 drive! ). Bouncing will break rear gears in a hurry too...
