I just found a crack in the exhaust manifold of my 22RE in an '89 4Runner with manual trans. Does anyone know which Thorley header will fit this application? The tech at Thorley said they only made headers to fit through 1987, and he didn't know why they didn't make any to fit 1989 models. I personally can't think of any differences, but I'm not sure. So, do any of you guys out there have Thorley headers on a 1989 4Runner?

Try out the 1987 one... The only possible differences would be:

A) Air Injection. Do you have it?
B) O2 sensor. How many do you have?

My 87 has no air injection, and 1 O2 sensor. If yours matches this description, then go for it!

Yeah, I thought so. My 4Runner has no air injection. It does have an EGR pipe that connects to the manifold at the head, and my single O2 sensor is in the pipe just in front of the catalytic converter.
