Its running like crap, idling really roughly, sometimes dying. If I gun it and keep it up it runs smoothly, 2800+. Replaced the distributor and rotor, put a new PCV on it, took off all the old intake and put in a tube and an open element on it. The line that used to plumb into the top of the old filter box pushed oil into the filter which got all over the AFM, even up onto the circuit board which I've cleaned up pretty well. Why is the truck still idling like crap? Got a code 11 out of it, momentary interruption in power supply to the ECU, what does that mean? Really want to get it running right again so I can get a driveshaft on the SA and go have some fun now that its warming up.

A momentary interuption in power means at some point the ecu did not recieve any power! Try to clear your code, to do this remove a battery cable for awhile or else take out the "efi" fuse. Check your AFM again and all your lines, pcv,vac ...! Sometimes and I repaet sometimes if a AFM is going bad, lightly tap on it with a screwdriver, and look at your connections at you AFM, I've seen them get all boogered up, which will haunt you for days!
Make sure you positively got all the oil out of everything!

Yeah, thats what Im thinking, when it warms up again Im going to pull the TPS and see what that looks like since I've cleaned the AFM multiple times. Even if I have to replace them, its probably about time anyway considering its age. I'd prefer a mechanical problem that I can see to an electrical one anyday of the week.

Well, how are things? What did you come up with?

Pulled the throttle body and cleaned it out, pulled the TPS apart and broke it so need to get another. Also waiting for the MAF to get done online. Probably wont have it back together until next weekend.

How much does a TPS go for these days?

Roughly $86 from Advance Auto or Autozone. Dont have the courage to see what Toyota wants.
