Getting the Wheeling Fever
My brake pedal would go to the floor so I changed the brake master cylinder and bleed the brakes and they firmed up. Now it is doing it again. The pedal goes almost to the floor and then grabs, and stops the truck? Any suggestions on what it could be?

I need new front pads, but the rear shoes looked good, and the rears seemed adjusted correctly.

Are any of the calipers leaking fluid?

aNot that i know of. Now this morning, pedal was firm and high. seems like the brake master cylinder again? Also no fluid loss from the brake master cylinder.

Isn't there a vacumm line that goes to the master cylinder?

No, that goes to the vacuum booster.

You could have an internal leak in the master cylinder, which could behave as you describe. It is not uncommon for master cylinders to fail right after bleeding- the reason? Using pumping to bleed the brakes sends the piston seals into a rough, contaminated area in the master cylinder, damaging them. It doesn't take long after that. Ask me how I know... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

That's why I really like pressure or vacuum bleeders so much.
