I'm on my second JD2 bender. I like them a lot. Lubricating the die is very important. Also make sure there's a slight chamfer on the leading edge of the die and it'll work like a champ

Roll Me Over
I have a JD and use it every day for my buisiness. It works great and as long as you keep it lubed the dies seem to last quite a long time. I haven't replaced one yet. Pro-tools, Mtech, and a couple others make clones of the JD and from what I've heard the quality is about the same, as is the price so just go with whoever has it in stock or is nearest to save on shipping.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have the E Z Bend Pipe/tubing bender. Bends pipe dia. of 1 1/2" to 3.0". It can bend 10 ga. cold rolled steel tube. Losts of accessories to play with. I bought mine in 94 when I opened my muffler shop and the price of 5750.00 was pretty steep. EZ Bend does offer low budget hydrolic benders for the at home do it yourselfer. They are located in Duncan Ok. I do not have the phone # but if anyone is interested I will get it and post it. They will custom make dies at what ever dia. you may need. I have custom made hedders, roll bars, nerf bars, headache racks, ladder racks, etc.
