Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hi,

I'm thinking of installing a dynomax super turbo muffler in my 95.5 Isuzu rodeo. Wondering if this will give me any problems come smog check time. I live in California and the smog checks are very tough. They usually do a visual inspection and run the vehicle on a 'dyno'-like apparatus.

Any experiences with this?

I have a Flowmaster and was given no trouble when getting a smog test.

As long as you have a muffler, they will be happy.

Mufflers have nothing to do with smog!

Since the question was asked about mufflers and CA smog, what about Calmini's header or a new cat? Anything to be worried about there?

Headers have much the same effect on smog as mufflers do. The catalytic converter on the other hand can definitley effect the 'bad stuff' in your exhaust.

Technically the CALMINI header is not a CARB approved piece of gear. You 'could' fail a smog test on a visual inspection. Stay friendly with the guys that did your smog test!!
