'89 22re 5speed... I have some slack in my rear t-case flange (nut is tight). Seal is leaking. Is there a rear bearing that causes this slack in the shaft? Anybody repaired this problem before? I would appreciate some input! Thanks, Taylor...

Are you CERTAIN that the nut has not broken thru the staking and started to back off ? Try re-torqueing it to specs. Mine did this, and I didn't know it. I just thought that the seal was going bad. WRONG !!

Not sure what you mean by slack. The flange bolts to the output shaft which is splined so the question is, which direction is the play? Is it wobbling on the shaft, loose fore-n-aft, or is the play rotational - like if you were just feeling driveline slack within the transfer case/transmission?
The seals go bad from time to time and are not too hard to replace.
