Need a Spot

Hi all, I'm a newbie to the board. I'm looking for some info. regarding the front and rear main seals. I have to tackle a new clutch and timing chain in the near future and from what I've read on the bord, would like to replace the seals. Are there any links (w/pictures) or posts related to what I'll need for the job? I'm new at this but I'm willing to give it a shot. I bought a Toy manual but am not sure where to look for these seals. Any info. would be of great help. Thanks.........

The front main seal is easy to do while doing the T-chain, and if you have the trans out and the oil pan off the rear should be a breeze also. one thing you may want to have on hand is a set of speedy sleaves(fix grooves) just in case the surface that the seal rides on is messed up...................Karl

Welcome to the board We'll take baby steps here K? A little something your going to want to know is...how to get that ***** crank pulley nut off . Yer gonna want to take a 19mm socket and place it on the end of a breaker bar. Parking brake set and trans in park or neutral, put the socket on the pulley bolt, place the other end of the breaker bar over the drivers side frame. Pull your coil wire and just touch your ignition. This will loosen the crank pulley nut. Any other means of trying to get it off will just tick you off....and the bolt will still be there You'll prolly need a puller to get the pulley off. Install is reverse sept when you put in the new seal, put a little oil on it and when installing the pulley, go slow and straight. If you need help with the T chain, just hollar.
