Getting the Wheeling Fever
'95 Rodeo ... my "Rear ABS" and "Brake" (seen only when handbrake is used) lights on the dash come on sometimes when I use the brake while doing normal driving. Flickers on and then off right away. It's been like this for at least the last year but rare. Yesterday it came on and stayed on... until I turned the car off after my trip... next time I turned it on... it's not there anymore.

Is this a sign of bigger problems or just a faulty signal being sent ? There's no "check engine" or anything... haven't actually tested my ABS by jamming the brakes and don't want to unless it's a last resort.

Some vehciles have a level sensor in the Master, dont know if this is the case with yours, but check you brake fluid level, you might be surprised, as your brakes wear, the fuild level falls..hope this helps...

There is a seperate prcedure for retrieving codes from the ABS computer, very similiar to retrieving engine codes from the ECM.

Get the codes.

Its a '95 thing. Both of my '95 trooepr have done it. Most '95 rodoes do it as well. Its not a "major" issue. Worse case is your reaer only ABS is malfunctioing occasionally.
