allright, I got the seafoam and I will get the m1 0w-30... so my question is, what is the best method for performing the flush? i know this has been talked about a lot, but after searching i could find no clear method of actually doing the flush... do u drive it with the seafoam or just idle it or what? some help would be greatly appreciated, i gotta stop this dreaded tick... and another thing? do i run the 0w 30 temporarily or for good? i live in Missouri and we get hot and cold here. do i need something heavier? 5w 30 maybe for permanent use? i dunno, some help please....
thanks, chris

The best way would be to start searching. There are several posts from a few of our very respected community members outlining exactly what should be done.

To get you going, follow THIS link. I searched for engine +flush -transmission +tick +3.2 When you are done with those 20 or so posts, start trimming things out of the search string. engine +flush +3.2 would be a good place to start.

Good Luck,
Michael

Hey I just used some Sea Foam in the engine recently. I can't offer anything special, but my own personal results. I added about a 1/4 of the can, directly into the crankcase. I drove my ride at moderate speeds for about 2 miles in my neighborhood, then returned home. I then changed the oil, using Castrol 10w-30 synthetic blend oil. My motor sounded quieter, and also felt like a little bit of power/performance was regained. HTH <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

cool man, thanks... yeah, sounds like the best thing to do is to put it in the crankcase and then run it for a bit at low rpms and then put in some lighter oil... im going with the M1 0w30, but i still and not sure if i should use this permanately.. i have seen conflicting ideas as to whether it should just be used as a flush, but we'll see... thanks
