im finally putting the lift into my pig but i need to replace my control arm bushings.

they are completely unsalvagable obviously

i went to the parts store and they quoted me on 81 bucks a piece.

bs. right?

i was wondering if anyone fabs up the bushings with the sleeve, maybe in acrylic?

i cant bear to go to the dealership and have them jack me ,like they did on the cam bolts.

anyone?

i checked out some daystars for like 35 bucks but they require that you reuse the sleeve.

is this wise, considering i will most likely be melting/beating the seized bushing off the sleeve?

Man,you are in for pure hell replacing those bushings!Go ahead and buy new cam bolts from the dealer.Don't waste time heating and beating on the old bolts.Find a sawzall and cut the bolt on each side of the sleeve. When you get both sleeves out,cut or burn all the old bushing off. Then you might be lucky enough to soak them in some lubricant and drive whats left of the old bolt out.I couldn't find any replacement sleeves anywhere except the ones that came with the toyo bushings.I was able to reuse one of my sleeves but had to make the other one out of a peice of pipe.By the way,I've got a complete upper and lower set of daystars unopened. You can have'em for $25 and that includes shipping!Good luck!

I don't know what you guys are talkin' about, but just in case this helps you with a custom solution... I had www.spidertrax.com machine some sleeves to press-fit onto rear lower control link rubber bushings. They sell it as a product now, including the bushings. Link here and here. They're most likely a different size bushing than whatever you have, but it might be a possibility. These are hard rubber but still might be too soft for use in the front since they're rubber and intended to flex some. I'm not sure.
