Terrible service. I've ordered through them (Merlin) 3 times now and every time something has went wrong. I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt. And he keeps saying about their excellent reputation on the internet. I've got the reputation of a porn star on the net; doesn't mean that's what I am.

First order was an exhaust piece. Despite going through the order of pipes from the manifold down to the pipe I needed, I was shipped the wrong pipe.

Second order was a month or two ago when I was replacing my center pins. I decided to order new "spring friction pads" (that sit on the ends of the leafs so its not metal on metal.) Took three weeks to get them. At first they weren't even ordered until I called a week later to get a tracking number. Then when they were ordered, they were shipped to the wrong address. Three weeks without my truck because of a $9 order.

Third time. At the beginning of the week I called him up to order another exhaust part. I asked that since it was Monday, what my chances are of getting it by thursday. He said it was a chance but more would more likely be Friday. I went ahead and paid to have it overnighted on Monday so I would have it yesterday. The part is still not here. I called him today and he said that the part isn't shipping out of Ohio like they usually do; it's coming from California. The order has been "allocated" but not shipped. Atleast he's not charging me for having it 5 day overnighted

I'd taken my vacation time to go to Uhwarrie this weekend, but will not be that guy with the really obnoxious exhaust.

/end rant. Hope everyone else has much better luck with them.

Matt,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble getting parts from St. Charles. --- It happened to me once with my clutch... Some of my parts ended-up being shipped to Merlin instead of my mechanic.

(As for not making this weekend... See my reply in the Uwharrie thread)

Chin-up, Bro... It could be worse. - You could be waiting on a critical piece, like a throw-out bearing!

Cheers!

That sucks, Matt. I have used St. Charles over the years numerous times and have only had one order show up late.

I fear that as the parts dry up for our trucks, this may become a more common experience, even with good vendors...

I'm sorry for ya... the only time I had a late part was because it turned out that there is no saturday delivery in Moab

Otherwise, merlin to this day still remembers me, he even gave me credit for a bunch of parts I didn't use

No problems with service here. Well, on one order I was missing one part (fuel filter, I think). A phone call and I had it 2 days later.

Interesting that when some of the clutch parts I ordered for my Trooper came from CA, they got here overnight. The rest showed up a few days later. Between the arrivals I thought part of my order didn't make it, and Merlin told me the parts are shipped faster from CA. Strange.

I'm pleased with the service and prices.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have ordered from Merlin and the boys for 5 years with 2 different rigs. I have had great service always with no screw-ups/problems . I guess nobody is perfect (at least in the auto parts business), but Merlin's team is 500% better than the local Isuzu (Clown) dealership where I am. Sorry to hear about your plight ... Fred.

Happened again - my stupidity for ordering from them again.

Me (wednesday): I need a wiper relay
Them: Ok you'll see it middle of next week.

Me (friday, next week) - can I have a tracking number?
Them: yeah, your part is on backorder.

Thanks for letting me know!

In August my bearings and crush sleeves for my 5.38 gear change arrived in least than a week.

Still having pretty good luck with St Charles. Monday I received park brake cables and motor mount out of Ohio. Tuesday I got a door hinge, wing vent rubber seal outa California. Still waiting on doors seals for the RS, back ordered the invoice said.

Roll Me Over
They've been outstanding for me. When an honest mistake was made, I got a call a week later and Merlin was saying he had kept reseraching it because it didn't seem right, and he had found the right part hidden away in another catalog.

He mailed me a pre-paid shipping tag I put back on my box and shipped it out.

I've had nothing but good experiences.
