Take the two new springs off....lay them down on the driveway sideways-not like rocking chair rockers, but on their sides. Stack one spring on top of the other. Then line then up one over the other.

Stick a long bolt thru the holes in one end to line it up with the spring under it. Then see how they end up on the other end.

You will see that the holes on the other end don't match up. And if they do, one spring will loop lower than the other in the middle.

Your springs aren't curved exactly alike. They should be.

It really is that simple.

But wait!....Even if the assembled springs seem to be curved the same, the spring assembly with the open gap will offer less resistance when loaded by the weight of the truck...So that side will be lower when the truck is squating on it.

You know deep in your heart it ain't right, so send them back.

YAh, you could give it a few weeks and see. How long is the warranty from Allpro, if there is one. If there isn't, and you are not satisfied, ship them back and take your money to Alcan or National Springs. If Alcan or National Springs sets cost more $$ than you want to spend, use the Allpro main and build your own pack out of some used sets.

................... and combined with a perch that is bowing down 1/8". Bada bing. We'll see what happens.

That does not sound good.....perches that bow down will pull more arch out of the pack. The perch surface must be flat. I had it happen once on the front on my 84 Yota pick-up....the solution was to weld a thick length of flat steel on-top of the perch....maybe 2"x6" flat-stock or similar. I had mine 9 inches long.....kind of had an anti-rap effect. A flat-stock brace at each end is a must.

Another item that will cause your condition.....and this just happened to me 4 months ago.....I bet this never happened to anybody on this board...it drove me nuts and caused mucho aggrivation .....is when the perches were welded to the housing that they were not "even" or parallel with each other.

If that happens, then when the u-bolts are cranked down, it pulls one pack differently than the other and one pack gets pulled down making it lean bad. 2 inches in my case.

Loosen the u-bolts all the way and bounce on the rear packs a little and see if it levels out. If the rear levels out, then one of the conditions above has your name on it.

On yours, you might check the torsion bar adjustment up front, often a slight height difference there can make a much bigger difference in the back. See if the corner opposite the low one is a little high.

I agree with Roger, when I still had my 4Runner it was leaning on one side. I re-adjusted my t-bars and it leveled after.

you have to remember they are long, flexi, soft springs. One-day mine leans one-way the next time I look it could be level or leaning the other way.

Sorry to steal your post... but do any of you guys with 63" chevys have this problemo? Thanks fellers

One problem after another... I thought leafs were simple. bolt on. I guess allpro leafs aint. thanks for all the input guys.

Zuk brought up a good point....

Did you replace your stock perches? If so are they properly oriented to each other and to the frame?

That just may be the whole of your problem.

it's on my 2nd gen 4runner. I welded allpro perches on there. and it was level until I had to replace one of the leafs for "seperating" reasons, and now with the 1 replacement leaf, it sits lower on the side with the replacement leaf!! Sounds like I swapped 1 bad leaf for 1 bad leaf... I talked to marlin crawler yesterday, they said they will be making leafs shortly.

Let me guess, the leaf that separated did so when you bent it up to connect to the rear shackle, maybe?

Are the springs installed correctly? There should be both a left and right side spring. The stock springs are designed with a left and right, whichever side the gas tank is on should have a higher spring rate. You should pull them off and swap them to see if the lean moves to the other side, or if the rig balnces out.
All-Pro, Alcans, AOR, and all other aftermarket rear springs that I have used or help install do not have a right or left, they are the same spring rate on both sides. If it were the front springs some of them do have a R & L because of the different spring perch height they are arched different just like the OEM ones, with the A-P's you add a 5/16-3/8 plate to the top of the perch on the DS!!!!
