Man do I feel like a dumb-a$$. I had my sliding glass window open on my truck and put a mattress in the bed of the truck. Well it hit the rear window so hard that I blew out the drivers side glass. My question for all of you is, can I replace the glass panel only or do I need to replace the entire rear window set?
Thanks, David

I recently put a 2 x4 through mine, I priced out a new one from TOY - anywhere from $350 to $450 (whew!) I couldn't find an am for the extended cab so I went to a glass shop and they replaced it for $20.00! I'm cheap so that worked for me!! Good Luck!

The dealer will always rob you on glass stuff... i had my side view mirror busted once and the dealer wanted like 40 or 50 bucks... F that! Went to a glass shop got the mirror for 8 bucks and had it installed too!

Wow, I ordered the replacement tailgate glass for my 4Runner last fall through BobBridge Toyota and paid less than $100 for it and some smaller items...all shipped. Wrecking yards wanted as much as $150 for scratched up glass. Shop around before dumping your hard earned into somebodies elses Mercedes Payment.

You can replace the whole glass yerself cheap with a one piece.
Solid rear window glass is readliy available. If I break my slider like you, that's what I will do...I'll replace it with a one piece....and I will do it myself.
If you decide to keep the slider, order it from Toy or a glass place.....Either way, replace it yourself.
Remove the window like you would a one piece.
Then place the window on the floor and press down with one foot thru the open frame while you pull up on the alum frame in the middle of the top frame. Insert your slider half or halves into the slots then relax your strain. Then install the whole thing using WD-40 and cord.

I simply replaced the piece I broke. I used lexan because I had some. Don't use house type pane glass. I pulled the window out of the truck, undid the screws holding the aluminum frame together, measured and cut the lexan, installed in the reverse order.

They replaced my 2 inner glass pieces of my sliding wondow! The details, I dodn't know, the glass tech said: "You have to wait here because of insurance puposes!" Anyhow, $20.00 and an hour later I'm driving down the road! You can't beat that! Especially since I'm cheap, They did a great job! Shop around and get yourself some estimates at some glass places, they should be able to hook you up!
