Hi,

just to introduce myself before starting to ask questions, here's my rig. There's no forum for Jimnys, but it's actually a 2nd generation of Samurai, so hopefully you don't mind showing it off here.



Suzuki Jimny '99

Mods:
* 1.6 16V engine swap from Sidekick/Vitara (originally 1.3)
* mildly suspension-lifted
* 31x10.5x15 Cooper Discoverer STTs on American Racing rims
* front and rear ARB lockers
* on-board air compressor w/ pressure gauge
* Warn M8000 winch
* removed front/rear bumpers in favour of bull bars
* side rock guards
* safari rack





I'm the 4th owner of this machine. Most of the rebuilding was done by the 2nd owner, who bought the car from the insurance after the first one had rolled it over and insurance wrote it off. He then sold it to some wildlife photograper after deciding to build a bigger machine for competition purposes, who drove it for a few months before deciding it's a bit uncomfortable for a daily driver. I have so far mostly just re-done the mods that were removed before being sold to the photographer (bought a new winch and rims/31s) and have no immediate plans to push it much further from where it is now, but I guess the life will tell.

Will gladly post some action pics once I have some - been to a few safaris so far, but have been too busy to take any pics.

Looks like a great truck!!! There are many Jimnys in my area of Japan but that one just looks strong.

I have some Jimny parts from 1st gens if anyone is looking for somethin?
