OME Springs on 2000 Runner #453440 05/21/04 08:40 PM

About to set myself up with OME springs and shocks. i do not have a modified front bumper and don't see it happening for a few years. Would you suggest the Firm Shocks and Firm Springs set up--recommended for Runners that will have 110-300 lbs of additional weight up front, or would you suggest Firm Shocks with Regular Springs? Thanks for your input.

Body Damage is Cool
I went with firm springs and standard shocks all around and the ride is harsh especially in the back. I wish I would've listened to those who told me to get standard springs and shocks. In fact that's my plan later this summer, I will add spacers to keep the lift where it is.

I don't have experience with the front OME equipment. My comments here only apply to the rear. I can say that a friend of mine has a '96 with a recently added 2" lift and no other mods. He used the OME 890 springs in the rear with the N86C shocks. It's great - rides better than mine now. Don't fall to the pressure of the typical 4x4 shop that recommends N86 shocks (i.e. heavy duty) even when you don't have any additional weight in the rear. The OME N86C shock (C = comfort) is perfect for stock weight in the rear. I have the N86 rear shocks, which is fine for LOTS of added weight such as with my custom rear bumper and tire rack.
