Need a Spot
After a few weeks of hard work for me, a couple of hours a day. I am disabled and feel very lucky to be able to get in a couple of hours of work a day. I'm just about finished up my first timing chain, guides, sprockets, and etc. I put a new water pump on, but used the old oil pump it was in such good shape. I pulled the front differential and took the oil pan off. The right side guide had started coming apart so I had to clean out the pan. I pulled the head and replaced it with a head I had bought on ebay and had a machine shop do a valve job and shave .006. Cleaned up everything the best I could and reassembled. She fired up but with a bad idle miss. Found the gasket that's between the EGR tube and air plentium that I half installed. I missed one of the bolt holes and the gasket swung down. Fixed that and it is smooth now. I can't thank this foum enough for the information that I have gathered here.

Yeah, congrats; feels good doesn't it? Sometimes just pluggin' along gets you every bit as far down the road towards a goal as <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> and elbows mode. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

What you mean by calling yerself "Disabled"?

Any man that can field-strip a 22RE while it is still 'tween the frame rails ain't disabled!

Stay away from my wife, Mister!

Dude I'm on my 14th year of a liver transplant. I am having kidney problems, nerve disease in my feet and legs and heart problems. But nobody told me I had to quit trying. I am very proud to be able to do some of my own work. I would give everything I own for my health back. Like I said it took me several weeks to do this job and with the help from the good folks in this forum I avoided a lot of costly and timely mistakes. Thanks

Raz, you and my Dad are cut from the same cloth. He's dealing with prostrate/lymph cancer, had neuropathy in feet/hands, so sleep eludes him quite a bit. What keeps him plugging away like you? About 250 hives set out this summer.
Hang in there, do what brings you satisfaction, and I hope ya stay comfortable as possible. Yep, health is not a commodity. Holler anytime; some good folks here. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
