Need a Spot
I am looking into purchasing an 85 4 runner and am planning on a lift for it. I will be working on a budget and also do not have access to a welder to move spring mount locations for chevy or other springs. I will use the rig as a part time daily driver and also a rig to 4 wheel and not have to worry about breaking things. Will also use in the winter for snow I do not do any extreme rock crawling as most of the wheeling here in PA is mountains with a few rocks and mud holes. My question is what would be the best setup for me to fit 32 or 33" tires. A shackle lift or a bolt in set of new or helper springs for the front and rear? Who makes the best priced quality equipment? I see lifts listed in the 4 wheel parts wharehouse magazine for the 79 - 85 pickups for less than $300 total with new shocks and springs. I am assuming the older 4 runners use the same lift as the older pickups. Thanks for any replies as I can't wait to get it set up and do some real wheeling. Thanks, Andrew

Ive had several 4runners an pick ups in there 85 model they are pretty much the same lift but in my experince the leaf sprigs for the 4 runner in the rear nned an extra spring or be heavier due to the added wheight of the 4 runner plus a 3 inch lift is mild so you should be able to fitt 33's with no trouble....but the 22r will be taxed with bigger tire combo so consider a ring and pinion swap
