Yeah, so it looks like Ive got the original tires on my 85 4Runner. So before they deteriorate too much more, Im gonna take em off. I did a bunch of searching around, but everyone seems to want MT's or something of the sort...well I just want some steet queen tires. It's going to AZ and I hear when it rains, its like ice on the road...so something that will stick well. Other than that, just a good street tire that wears well. The Dunlop Grandtrek TG30 seems to be a good tire...but I hear they arent very quiet. Anyone know about the Goodyear Fortera HL Edition?

It feels so good to be posting again!

How about the Dueller Revo AT? They seem to get great reviews.

Dueller Revo ATs and BFG ATs are in a class by themselves... both are really amazing tires.

I reccomend them both, I live in Las Vegas, and the slickness of the roads is even worse... BFGs keep me safe so far, all I need now is some LSD, and maybe rear discs.

I don't care that you asked - go ahead, but why did you put this in the Toy forum especially for 4 wheeling?

Are all SUV tires AT or MT nowadays? I guess none are really geared towards mpg and just city driving. All have to have some off-road capability...I think I'll go with the Revos.

Yeah...it probably "should" go over there. The 4Runner and SUV forum discriptions just says late model 4Runners...so I figured Id keep it in the early model forum. Plus, does anyone read the 4Runner and SUV forum anymore? It gets like 4 posts a day...

Dont make me go to YT because I aint wheeling my Runner <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

I bought my truck two months ago.....the previous owner had just mounted these:

They are Hurcules Terra Trac AW's.

I have to say that they really do well so far. We have had a very wet spring down here with many hard rains that pissed an inch or two/hour. They never once got snakey on me even on flooded roads at 65MPH.

In fact, last week I pulled two large domestic trucks out of hwy ditches while I was on slick grassy and steep embankments. They had hydroplaned, where I didn't.

I'll be stepping up to larger, more aggressive mudders, but I'll keep these mounted for normal daily use.

P.S., they are really cheap, too.

I'd go for one of the Michelin LTX tires, one is more of a "street queen" tire made for SUV's and is designed for snow and rain ( the M/S designation I believe) and the other is a decent all terrain tire, it's not up to par with the BFG off road but it is quiter and gives good handling. Otherwise, BFG A/T I have em and I think they're great but I put the tread to it's gripping limit.
