I replaced the thermostat on a 94 v6 runner a few months ago and it started leaking recently. Do you guys have any tips on how to seal it when I reinstall?

That's what happened when I replaced my thermo...turns out it was actually the waterpump leaking. Might want to check that out.

I haven't checked the water pump for leakage. I did replace that at the same time I replaced the thermostat. But I can clearly see signs of leaking (dried up coolant) around the thermostat.
What did you use for the seals? I think the stuff I used was Permatex.

Isn't there an O-ring to seal the housing?

Isn't there an O-ring to seal the housing? Yeah, extra sealant *shouldn't* be needed since the o-ring around the thermostat seals it all up.

Isn't there an O-ring to seal the housing? I don't remember now...maybe I was thinking about the water pump or one of the pulley assemblies with the water spout in it. I guess I'll take it off and check the o-ring. thanks
