Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have an 87 runner w/ 22RE & 198K miles. I put some Restore into the beast last oil change and have noticed a difference. I ain't the best wrench turner, so I don't have compression numbers to compare, but it is smoother, more responsive, and got 5mph faster at the top end. so for $6 this seems to be a good investment and works as advertised.

Also had a steering box leak develope a bout a week ago and put some Lucas Oil Power Steering stop leak in it and it worked like a charm. This may not be the best long term solution, but it give me time to do some learning and works like a cham for now.

Some Redline gas treatment/engine cleaner seems to have helped the milage too.

Now for the pat on the back part. I am not the smartest wrench turner, probably on my block even. I acknowledge that I am a breaker, not a fixer. But I'm a damn good beer and parts buyer/wrench and parts hander. this page has become my first stop to trouble shoot the problems I've had since I bought my runner. I really appreciate how helpful and giving everyone here is. I like that only once has anyone been flamed that I've seen, and he deserved it. And it wasn't even a flame so much as constructive criticism to show the young guy what he did wrong (the "I was doing 35 in a blizzard, the guy in front was doing 10 in the middle of the street and I swapped ends when I finally figured out the speed difference" thread)

you guys (and any gals out there) really rock when it comes to helpin out and sharing knowledge. I really appreciate everyone here for saving me money and making me smarter.

I do believe he's giving everyone a pat on the back.

I have to agree with about everything you've said. This forum is pretty flame free, especially when compared to places like the PBB where you can get chewed out and flipped off even for asking technical questions.

I think there are a lot of people here that post there as well, and you can tell that even those people act differently on this forum. There's a nice etiquet here.

Yep, I gotta agree that everyone here is most tolerant and forgiving. Otherwise, I'd be crispy toast by now.

These really are a great bunch of guys. They let us spew our ideas and never slam us when we are wrong. Sometimes I feel like I'm back in the Navy surrounded by Brothers-in-arms.

Being a career submarine sailor, I miss the comraderie and focus to detail we all shared there. It's funny how 125 big ego's could fit well into such a small space for so many months and no one ended up with his throat cut. Instead, they became friends for life-each relying on the other's narrow expertise and forgiving their ignorance of the rest.

When a submarine experienced a problem, the whole crew pitched in with ideas to fix it. Some ideas were silly, some were so factual and correct that they seemed silly at first. In the end it always got fixed. But only because we allowed all to offer their ideas.

Yep, when you set out to sea for months on a submarine with a problem nagging at you, either personal or professional,.....by the time you surfaced, it was solved....Because you had 125 very intelligent and helpful men offering their ideas and advice....if ever you shut them out, you were doomed.

"One Ship, One Crew."

If only we all were seamen.

Jokes aside, I agree that people in the service learn a great deal about comradory and team effort. Even more important we can all learn from eachother.
