So, im thinking 33's but want to stay light so my 22re can turn them easier (and why hurt Toyota's best advantage) would ya'll go 15 inch steel or 16 inch aluminum?

Between your choices I'd go with the 15" steel. 15" wheels and tires are the more common sizes i.e. cheaper. You'll pay more for 16" sizes. Also, steel wheels are cheaper than aluminum.

My $.002

Why not 15" aluminum?

Yea, if you want light and farily cheap and you have a pep boys near you check out the Proline Style 139's. I paid $90/ea for 15x8's and with 33x12.50 BFG AT's they weren't much heavier than my stock alloys with 31's.

Stick with a narrower wheel and tire for less weight. Run a 33x10.50 or 9.50 tire on a 6" or 7" rim. You can get used stock alloys in 15x7 for pretty cheap and they will probably be the lightest. I run the 33x10.50s on 15x6 steel rims and there was a world of difference compared to running 33x15.50 Swamper SXs (bias ply) on 15x10 steel rims. I would basically lose 1 gear on the road with the heavier tires.

One other advantage of the narrower tire is you can run them at higher pressures, the 9.50 and 10.50s are rated for 50 psi max, the 12.50 is only rated for 35 psi max.

Look sort of whimpy for my style rock crawling to me, but that is just looking the picture. I would be leary of them, there is a reason that they are so cheap!!!!! I saw a guy break the centers of of two street wheels on the Con in the box!!! I lucked out when I got my Alloys, four Ultra 50, 15 x 10 brand new for $200.00. Beat them up for two years then took them to Champion and had them beadlocked!!!!

I haven't had any issues with them, I've beat on 'em pretty good with no issues. I'm most likely not as "hardcore" as you, but I gotta drive this thing on the street alot and being a poor, married college student I can't afford a trail set and a street set. One thing I do like about the design is that the rim edge is recessed and fairly protected:

I bashed up my stockers quite a bit around the lip, so that was one selling point. They're not that much cheaper than most alloys out there, I think the MT Classic II's and most of the AR and AE's run about 90-105 each for 15x8's. Just figured I'd throw my $.02 in there.
