http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/cvmod/ANGLE2.jpgI recently had a d-shaft rebuilt on my DD and the shop charged $90 for the center bearing of the CV(assuming they actualy put it in). I wanna use a front cv-joint for the rear of a dual case Runner. The slip is wasted, so I bet the center bearing is shot. I would like a part # for this to avoid paying a shops mark-up next time. A friend gets dealer parts are a killer discount.

$90 for a carrier bearing is pretty good, especially installed.

Not sure of the part #, but I rebuilt one once before- NAPA had all the parts. NWOR has them too, if all else fails.

I read it 3 times and it just didn't come together. Couldn't tell exactly what it was from the pics, never seen one apart. I think mine cost around $100 for the CV rebuild kit, not sure if that was with labor or not, that was about 5 years ago.

Toyota parts guy didnt have the bearing listed. They showed the u-joints for the cv. I'm wondering if the rebuild "kit" is available somewhere else.
Guy at NAPA was so confused.
