Can I put an engine out of a 1990 LS into my 1989 LS without there being any problems. Like maybe a problem with the 89 computer not matching the 90 engine (Fuel Delivery System). Mitch was telling me that maybe the 1990's had different fuel injection and maybe my 89 computer could not control the 90 engine. If thats the case any suggestions on how to fix the problem. I got to get his baby running for the Colorado trip.

Also any suggetsion on what brand of water pump and timing belt I should use. I'm changing them out this weekend before I put this engine under the hood.

I think Mitch is right about the computer. Seems like the 89 is a one year only set up. 89 is multi port injection. The 90 I think is sequential multi port injection.

I think you can use the block and heads of the 90 and just use the injectors and distributor and egr setup from the 89.
