Good morning, I posted before about a friend's Galloper, I sent my spare ecu back home for him to try out.
Well he said the cel didn't come on so his mechanic didn't try to crank it.
Has anyone here tried to use an 89 ecu into a 90 or 91 Monty? If so, what was the outcome?
TIA for any help.

From what I understand, it won't work. Apparently '89 was a one-year only. '90 and '91 appear to be identical to each other.

I just changed engines and put a 1990 engine into a 1989. It started and idles fine. I haven't drove it much but I know it's working. I dont know how it would work opposite of what I got. I also know someone who put a 1990 ECU in their 1989. I guess theres been some confussion about this and I don't understand all the logistics but thats what has been my experience.
