Body Damage is Cool
My '95 trooper w/ 120K miles didn't have any probelms when I changed. I may have a very slight amount of smoke on startup, but nothing major given that trooper only sees weekend use.

I switched at 93k on my '95 Trooper, increased my change intervals to 5k, and have been quite satisfied with the results. Hitting that ol' search button on this topic will give you tons of info. I based my decision on all the hits that came up from searching.

Did the switch on my 94 Trooper with only 50,000 miles and regretted it. The synthetic contributed to leakage, especially with the valve seals. Now I'm burning oil and it smokes upon startup.

I use full synthetic (Mobile 1 10w-30) and haven't used any between oil changes, knock on wood.

Switched my '94 Rodeo to Mobil1 10w30 (5w30 lately) at 90K miles... no problems. It never burned oil before, still doesn't at 120K miles. It does leak around the valve covers.. just a little but enough to smell at shut-down... and into the sparkplug wells. But then it did that before changing, too. It never needs a top-off between changes at 4-6K mile intervals.

I've wondered if tightening the valve cover bolts would help some with the leaking.

Synthetic oil and using Fram filters has really helped keep that valve ticking noise 3.2L SOHC engines get in check.
