Just curious. My check engine light came on at about 65000 miles. Is it just for emmisions? Or anything else? I'll see if I can get the code, but where I live, emmisions is not required.

Thx

It cold be a few hundred different things. You will now know until you get it checked out. You may be doing damage by continuing to drive it.

Thanks for the info Gadget. Next question is, what is the name of the "gadget" I use to get the error codes, and is it Toyota specific?

Lastly, does it matter if I have the Supercharger Performance Kit with the Fuel/Timing Calibrator?

Thanks.

Congratulations Sargent 'D', You're a Dumbass. Oh, did I say that out loud?

Well, when the light came on a week ago, I looked under the hood, and noticed 2 of the vacuum hoses in the back of my supercharger were cracked. So I replaced them like a good owner would. What I didn't do was reset my ECU. So I was doing some BS manual labor at work today, and pondering about my check engine light, and thinking, maybe I should disconnect my battery and reset my ECU...Well Low and Behold....No more check Engine light. What a dumbass. The good thing is, Now I get to save the $35 bucks it was going to cost me to hook up my 4Runner to a code reader at the local automotive skills center.

AutoZone and Advance Auto will read the codes for free (OBDII).
