I had the top off my 88 4runner for the first time to check the seals and body. I plan to leave it off in favor of a soft top...but today's rain changed that for now..anyways..i put the top back on, and it is lined up, but i did not put the bolts back on. I only reconnected the wiring harness and washer hose.

The rear window still wont go up, and its raining....grrr

any ideas?

Put the bolts in. One of them, not sure which, closes a circuit enableing you to close the window. It is a safety feature to prevent the window from being rolled up when the top is off. Also, make sure the door is locked.
