Ok, so i lifted the front three inches and after that i have had to replace all four ball joints all tie rod ends cv boots, etc, etc,. Im wondering if there is something wrong with my front end, i know that cranking the t bars isn't the best for the suspension but i never hear anybody else talk about front end problems except for cv boots and joints, my ride is really stiff and i have no droop but my bars are not cranked to the max, can somebody help me out?

i have no droop but my bars are not cranked to the max, can somebody help me out? Then I'm thinking your bars are as maxed out as you can get them. If you have no more droop, how can you crank your t-bars any more, other than to just put more tension on them? Anyhow, you're talking about a 14-year-old truck here. Yes, lifting it puts more stress on the suspension and will wear out parts more quickly. So I think you're seeing that wear. If you have no droop, I'd suggest backing off on the lift a little. What you're saying is that the truck is riding on the upper bumpstops (the ones on the a-arms), which isn't very good for ride quality and is probably an idication that you're a little high. A little less lift, a little less CV boot replacement, IMHO... Hope that helps a little <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

im not riding on the bumpstops, there probably a inch or inch and a half of clearance left, thats why im puzzled as to why my front end is so stiff

Try cranking them back two or three turns and see if that helps the ride any. You will not lose much lift and it should help the ride alot. I know when I first lifted mine thre inches it was fine, then I turned it a couple more turs and it would beat you to death riding on hte road. So I turned them back and all is well.
As far as the boots, balljoints tie rods go it is like what was said. You are dealling with an older truck you are going to have to replace parts like that, that are aready wore out. I mean you didn't have to replace them more than once have you?
Later, Daniel
