Getting the Wheeling Fever
I think my A/C fan motor is dying. It's been making a sort of 'clicking' noise for quite some time, and now it doesn't really blow at all.
I've been relegated to running the A/C with no fan and driving really fast to try and beat this Texas heat. Occasionally the fan will work if I hit a bump or bang on the fan housing, but even then it just barely blows.

Anyhow, I've got the bottom half of the passenger side dash taken apart and I can see the blower fan inside the housing through the vent hole, but I have no idea how to get it out of there and my crappy Chilton's doesn't cover it that well.

Could anyone help me out with this? It's freakin' hot down here!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

Thanks

OK, I was able to get the fan out. Wasn't too hard at all.
I reconnected the power and turned on the fan but it didn't work. I reached over to turn the fan switch off and managed to flip the whole thing upside down and it started spinning at full speed. Nearly sucked my Chilton's up off the floor.
So the motor will only run if it is upside down.
Looks like a bad fan motor to me...
Anyone have a part# for this? About how much should it cost?
Thanks

Thanks, Nunsa. Great links.

The motor is a little more expensive than I thought so I'm going to go hit some junkyards.

Does anyone know what other year models of 4Runners/Tacoma's or other Toy's use the same fan as my '91 4Runner?

Thanks again.
