You cats are alright. I appreciate all the insight.
I PM'd him a day or so ago in regards to his T.
Wouldn't mind checking it out. I am in Minnesota, but have flown numerous times to get vehicles. Most recently to pick up a '98 jetta TDI. Diesel baby. Don't get me started....

Never-the-less, if you have other gotchas or what not, let me have it.
What are the recommended timing belt/water pump change intervals?

Thanks again -keir

you can get brackets to drop both corbeau and recaro buckets straight into the T-100. I put a bucket into my T-100, (left the right bucket inplace because it is comfy) and it was probably the best mod I have ever done, put over 20K miles on it and love it. You do want to try to find a dealer and try on the seats before you get them because there are some differences for each seat.

All,
I came across a '97 SR5 located at a Ford stealership.
The particulars are such:
5spd
Topper
164k miles
and...
BUCKET
$6499
any concerns among the populus in regards to the 164k miles. Would it scare you? I think I may jump on this one, however, wanted to clear it with the experts and see what ya'll had to say.

I sincerely doubt I will be able to find out serive history(TB, water pump). So, those repairs will be in my close future.
Again, thanks in advance. I appreciate your help!

I just paid 4500 for a clean '95 SR5 4x4 auto, a/c, power everything, etc. It has 255K miles and runs strong on all original motor and tranny, no leaks, no issues. 165K is nothing. I sometimes think I paid too much, but seriously the only issue is the little numbers on the dash, otherwise the truck runs and looks like something that cost 10 grand.

Check it out.

Timing belt and water pump aren't big deal. Besides, our best source for parts is Gettel Toyota for the DIY.

Check Clutch-pedal bracket (check for crack at firewall/pedal).
Check the steering shaft boot for rot. (minor)

Go take it out for a drive and offer them $6K.

I have factory radio/cassette and Factory CD changer in a box if you need it.

Good luck! Keep us posted!

I come from the honda and vw world where if you blow a timing belt, you break/bend valves. Not the case here? I hope to drive it tomorrow. I will let you know my findings!! Thanks to all. Keep that info coming.
closed circuit to UZOMBIE, weren't you just telling me to try to find a 97-98!?!

the T100 is a non-interference motor. a broken timing belt will not bend the valves. almost all of the toyotas with an interference motor get a timing chain. i believe there is an exception or two, but not the T100.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Uzombie,

I have a Factory 3-in-1 that I would like to trade for a Factory AM/FM/CD setup so I can use the pocket space for my CB radio. Please let me know if your interested. Thanks.

IT won't do you any good. The top unit is the AM/FM Cass. The Bottom unit is the CD Changer (3 disc cart). It takes up both Slots as your 3-n-1 takes them up.

And Keir- 97 is good. 98 is good. I just think of them as better than 95-96 because you can't put the TRD Supercharger on the 3.4L 95-96 motors. But they are all good motors. (TRD and Toyota Emission changes are the reason for the SC issue).
